India's Central India
Bandhavgarh Tiger Park
Within the lush splendor of 241 sq. miles of rocky hills, verdant forests and fertile marshes and meadows sounds the distinctive whistling call of the Dhole, the shriek of the Crested Serpent Eagle as it hunts for snakes and lizards, and the powerful roar of the great Indian Tiger. This, the Bandhavgarh National Park, is one of India’s most important Tiger Reserves, and home to a great myriad of endemic species.
Set in the Vindhyan mountain range, Bandhavgarh earns its name from the ancient fort that once presided over the land from its 800m high perch upon the cliffs. Boasting some 50-56 tigers, Bandhavgarh is home to more tigers than anywhere else in the world. Explore its many treasures as you trek through the lush forest, keeping watch for one of the many vibrant species that trod peacefully in the safety of this ecological gem.
