Miyazu, Japan
Visit Kasamatsu Park, where you will have the opportunity to view the bay from the reverse angle. If interested, you may attempt the traditional method of viewing the sandbar, known as “matanozoki”; during matanozoki, visitors turn their back to the bay, bend over and look at Amanohashidate between their legs, as has traditionally been done for over a millennium.
Afterwards, board the Amanohashidate Sightseeing Boat and enjoy spectacular views of the bay as you sail alongside the fabled pathway between Heaven & Earth.
Continue to Chionji Temple, housing one of Japan’s three important statues of the Buddhist God of Wisdom & Intellect. Because of this, the temple is frequented by students from all over who come to pray for wisdom and academic success.
Enjoy wondrous views of the more than 8000 pine trees that line the sandbar during a visit to Amanohashidate View Land, a charming theme-park home to a ferris wheel, roller coaster and other unique vantage points from which you can look out over the bay.
