Enjoy a Private Zazen Experience at Kodaiji Temple.
Kodaiji Temple was constructed in 1606 in memory of one of Japan’s greatest historical figures – Toyotomi Hideyoshi. Marvel at the temple’s richly decorated interiors and its surrounding beautiful Zen gardens; of note is the temple’s idyllic stone garden, where the sand is pain-stakingly shaped to resemble rippling waves.
While here, enjoy an enlightening Zazen (Zen Meditation) experience. Zazen, which means “finding inner peace” in Japanese, places an emphasis on posture and measured breathing in search of self-awareness. In total, your visit will last approximately 1 hour.
