Visit the Shanghai Museum, famous for its ancient Chinese art as well as collections of bronze, ceramics, painting and calligraphy.
The Museum’s collection is displayed over five floors, covering a total area of over 420,000 sq. ft. The building itself is designed in the shape of an ancient bronze cooking vessel called a ding. The building has a round top and a square base, symbolizing the ancient Chinese perception of the world as “round sky, square earth”.
