Witness an ancient art form the way it was meant to be seen. Vietnamese water puppetry dates back more than a thousand years and the stories and tales offer a rare insight in to life in the countryside. The puppeteers who remain hidden knee-deep in water behind a bamboo screen skillfully maneuver their puppets with a series of underwater strings and pulleys. Dragons spout fire as water snakes are chased by irate farmers and inquisitive children. All the while traditional music and a compeer keep the audience enthralled.
